The 2009 TYR Playa del Run Beach Festival
presented by Ed Hardy Sport
5k Run • Aquathlon • 1 Mile Swim • 1 Mile Sand Sprint - all summer long!

The 4 event series has stops at some of the top beach cities along the Southern California Coast. We guarantee some fun at the beach, "friendly" competition and a post event party that'll knock your socks off. Participants can choose between a 5k Run, an aquathlon (swim/run) a 1 mile swim or a 1 mile sand sprint. Points will be awarded for the top finishers for each event. At the end of the season, we'll award the King and Queen of the Beach Awards. Check out the site often as we'll be adding updates weekly.

caf This year our beneficiary is Heal the Bay. whose sole purpose is keeping the water you swim in - CLEAN! We'll be having an awesome raffle again this year. Tickets are only $15 and include a one year membership (valued at $25) to Heal the Bay! All raffle proceeds go directly to HtB. There will be a raffle at every event and you must be present to win. Raffle items include: TYR swim gear, Ed Hardy Sport Merchandise, BlueSeventy wetsuit, Beach Cruisers and more....

09.26.09 - Playa del Run Series Recap
 Ah - a great Malibu event to finish of the series. Results are posted in the RESULTS section, Points are posted in the POINTS section. We'll be mailing off OVERALL medals/awards to top three in each event (5k Run / 1-Mile Swim / Aquathlon) next week! We hope everyone had a great time this summer and if we don't see you at any of our other races this fall - we hope to see you next year!!!

09.20.09 - Playa del Run Malibu Update
 Another perfect day of racing - overcast skies - 68 degree water, and hundreds of people running, swimming on the coast of Malibu - you can't beat it. RESULTS are posted and PRELIMINARY POINTS for the 2009 series are POSTED as well! Thanks to everyone who attended the series this year and we hope you had a blast!

09.15.09 - Playa del Run Malibu Update
Don't forget that Triathlete Zombies is hosting packet pick up on Saturday from 1-4pm. You can register and pick up your packet at the Santa Monica store!

08.16.09 - Playa del Run: Solana Beach Update
 What another great event. Perfect swimming conditions (70 degrees and flat) and perfect running conditions (overcast) and a hilarious Sand Sprint which went right down to the final push up. Congratulations to everyone who raced and we hope you had a GREAT time. Results are POSTED!

07.27.09 - Playa del Run: Solana Beach Update
We're just 3 weeks away from the SB event. Note the time updates (Men Aquathlon @ 8:15am and Women Aquathlon @ 8:30am). This year we will not be having packet pick up at B&L, but feel free to stop in the store and do some shopping. And yes, we'll be @ Pizza Port on 8/15 at 6:30pm for some carbo loading. Just look for the PdR logo table!

07.20.09 - Playa del Rey Recap
 It twas a phenomenal day @ the beach! Water temperature around 70 degrees, air temperature just a little higher and tons of people swimming and running. Even special appearances by Larry Turkheimer @ Bill Ireland. Results are posted in the RESULTS section. FYI - there was a timing error @ the swim finish box so there will not be any official swim times/splits posted. Our apologies!
